I've been holding out for 24 years because I thought it was a gyp to PAY for
a channel changer when I already paid for it when I bought my television.
So, I've hooked everything up, and I can't tune in a single channel! I
repeatedly connected and disconnected the cables, and it's not rocket
science, but the dang thing still won't work. What do I do?

I know how to fix it, I can sell you the directions. Let me know if
you're interested. Anyone else that has a similar problem can buy
them from me as well. I have multiple copies.

Will it solve my problem? Only serious solicitors please.

Is the TV channel set to ch 3 or 4 and the box consistent?
Yes. The box has consistently failed to work.

If it's a digital box, call your cable provider and have them refresh
(hit) the box. Then DON"T unhook the cables again. Most of the time
it will need to be 'hit' again if you do.

That's sound advice, but when I couldn't get it to work, I called the cable
company and got a little foul with the lady techs, so now they just put me
on hold indefinitely. There's gotta be another way.

Could someone teach me how to hack into the cable company's system, so I can
reset the box? I'm getting desperate here. Reply directly to my email
please. I don't want any shifty types getting ahold of that information and
fucking up my cable.

You don't understand. I want to hack into their system so I can get the
"hit" I need so my cable will work. As discussed in an earlier post, I
apparently pissed off the lady techs at the cable company to the point where
they put me on hold forever, every time I call for help. I'm paying for all
the channels I'm getting, but, according to another poster, my box needs to
be hit, because I disconnected the cables. Sheesh! I would never think of
ripping off the cable company! Their the ones who bring me all these neeto
channels. So, uh...can you help me with this thing? Email me directly.

Stop shouting! You're ruining the reception. These guys will help you and
charge you one hundred and fifty bucks, or so you think. Don't you see what
you're asking is illegal? Everytime you turn on the TV, you're going to
hear sirens. It's the 2000s, it's not hammer time anymore. When you get
cold feet and back out, they're gonna raise the price to $400. Trust me, it
happened to my friend Rob Callamento.

OMG!

I think you have to be a little bit smarter than you are to take on the
Cable Companies!

Let me spell it out for you:

1. Stop paying your bills, but keep the money for the bills because you'll
need to pay THEM LATER!
2. Wait for their phonecall.
3. Answer phone call with: your system's not working, I am not paying until
it gets fixed
4. Next day your system will be fixed
5. Pay all out-standing bills.

How is this dishonest?!?!?

Well, it's a little unfair to hold those nice cable company folks hostage
just so they'll do something I want them to do. I find it hard to justify
that kind of tactic. Besides, I pay my cable bill 12 months in advance, so
they' ve already got the money.

a channel changer when I already paid for it when I bought my television.
So, I've hooked everything up, and I can't tune in a single channel! I
repeatedly connected and disconnected the cables, and it's not rocket
science, but the dang thing still won't work. What do I do?
If it's a digital box, call your cable provider and have them refresh
(hit) the box. Then DON"T unhook the cables again. Most of the time
it will need to be 'hit' again if you do.

That's sound advice, but when I couldn't get it to work, I called the cable
company and got a little foul with the lady techs, so now they just put me
on hold indefinitely. There's gotta be another way.
My 15 years on the technical side of RF engineering says 'no'. Have
some chick call pretending to be your wife, and have her apologize for
you by telling them you were drunk. Really, there's no other way.

You're telling me I can't manufacture some device to act as a "hit", thereby
resetting my box, or otherwise hack into their system and do it for myself?
Come on. I'm no fool.

The problem with this troll is that it's entirely believable that he
ACTUALLYcan't get his cable box to work, and gets on the internet at the
library. And has black ho's delivering his dope.

Just in case the last one is true, remember, don't waste your money on
condoms - this STD stuff is all urban legend...

Well, you have to call the cable company and let them know you want cable,
honey.

"Gee, I wanted phone service, so I went out and bought a phone and a phone
cord; I hooked it all up, but no won's calling me. What's 'up' wit' dat?"

See how dumn you sound now?
