This is getting too Clintonesque for me: "she" will lose medal because
"she" is "not female"? :)

Does anybody know what this gender test is? I mean, is this athlete
accused of being a man dressed as woman? Or does this involve her
hormones? Or something else?

You can create just about anything with plastic surgery. However,
genetic testing will show whether you have the right chromosomes to be
a certain gender.

There are a couple dozen conditions under the category of "intersex".
These include the having genes of one gender, but the development of
another,
extra X&Y chormosomes, genetilia ambiguity, and so on. Sometimes top
athletes dont find this out until they undergo special examination.
About 1 in 200 may be intersex.

It is hard to say from the article.

The Olympic committee and the USATF have ruled that transsexuals can
compete in their "target gender" if they have been on hormones for at
least two years, have completed reassignment surgery, and have finished
the legal requirements for sex/gender change.

There's quite a bit about this on the web:

There was a great article about this in Running Times (or maybe Runner's
World), written by someone who had had male-to-female surgery. She
started running in races again, after some hesitation because she was
sure she'd kill everyone, and was surprised to discover that she'd lost
most of the speed she'd had when she was male.

That's right; a friend of mine who is TS and a runner sent me the URL to
that article.

Just hope they don't start to require male runners to have a penis or
testes, otherwise this group is f**ked.

Nah, this group (but which of the ones you cross posted to is "this"
group) isn't fucked, but you surely are.

BTW, learn how to spell, so you don't have to use asterisks for letters
you're unsure of.
